WHAT IS CEDDO? WHO STARTED IT?
In 2005, His Excellency Bishop Allen H. Vigneron expressed the wish that a Confraternity of Eucharistic Devotion be founded in the Diocese of Oakland. Members of the Eucharistic Resources Commission of the diocese undertook to organize such an association. On April 10th, 2006 The Confraternity of Eucharistic Devotion, Diocese of Oakland, a Public Association of the Faithful, was duly erected by Bishop Vigneron.

MISSION STATEMENT
To deepen in the Diocese of Oakland, in its members and the members of this Confraternity, reverence and love for the Holy Eucharist, by fostering prayer and spiritual growth in individuals and families, and encouraging, organizing, and participating in various Eucharistic devotions in parishes/deaneries, which may include, but are not limited to, Eucharistic processions, Forty Hours Devotion and exposition of the Holy Eucharist, in collaboration with other organizations.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR MEMBERSHIP?
Everyone, young and old and in between may enjoy membership. Priests, deacons and religious as well as the laity may join. Eligibility for membership only requires that one be in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church and have a desire to give honor and glory to the Lord by means of Eucharistic devotions.

WHAT DOES A MEMBER COMMIT TO?

BENEFITS TO MEMBERS
The benefits to members are primarily of a spiritual nature as members partake in the prayers and offerings of those to whom they are associated.
